    d’Arenberg

    The Art of Being Different

Since 1912 the Osborn family have grown grapes and made wine in the picturesque surrounds of McLaren Vale. Today fourth generation family member Chester Osborn is at the winemaking helm, whom Robert Parker claims as one of the Top 40 Wine Personalities of the World, making distinctive wines using traditional methods in the winery and the vineyard.

Combining the winemaking tradition and ingeniously eccentric product marketing,  d’Arenberg now produce more than 60 labels of 30 grape varieties, with Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache being the cornerstones. The bold red stripe adorning each bottle of their oddly named wine (such as Dead Arm Shiraz) and the story behind make the brand so memorable. Over the past 100 years, d’Arenberg has built a reputation as one of the greatest Australian producers.

    Organic & Biodynamic Certification

Harmony between environmental sustainability and wine industry practice is a strong commitment upheld at d'Arenberg, with the aim to pass on a sustainable business to the next generation. All d’Arenberg estate and leased vineyards are NASAA Certified for organic and biodynamic processes, the largest biodynamic certified grower in Australia for wine grapes under their portfolio. This natural and environmentally friendly philosophy encourages strong root systems that penetrate the soil, resulting in lively tannin structures, soil characters and fine minerality. These practices also ensure that yields are kept low with concentrated flavours and excellent natural acidity.
